Two of the answers mattered on this one. Antique furniture was to stay, and the customer said they would either label the pieces to be kept or direct the team on the morning of the clearance. That is by far the best way to handle it. A team told only that "the antiques stay" will hesitate over every dark wood item in the house, and the one thing nobody wants is a chest of drawers going out of the door because it looked like the rest of the bedroom suite. Labels, or ten minutes at nine o'clock with somebody pointing. Either does the job.
Then, once the date was confirmed, the work grew. The customer wrote: "Thank you for confirming the booking. I would be grateful if you could please add on clearance and tidying of the garden and a clean of the property afterwards."
Both of those we do. Both are much easier arranged in advance than sprung on the team at eleven in the morning. A garden means different tools and usually a load of its own, and an after-clean means the last van can't pull away until the floors are done. So ask when you book, not on the day.

Girvan sits on the Firth of Clyde with Ailsa Craig out in front of it, and the town's own postcodes run in the KA26 district. Inland it's the opposite problem. Farm cottages towards Barr and Dailly come with a long unmade track, a gate that hasn't opened all the way in years, and nowhere to turn a long-wheelbase van without reversing a quarter of a mile. Houses that have got away from people
Some of the properties we clear haven't been emptied in forty years — lofts full, garage door that won't lift, back bedroom used as storage since the seventies.
