We have been doing house clearance in Hucknall since 2007, and in most weeks of the year there is a van of ours somewhere in NG15. Fridges and freezers are classed as hazardous waste, gassed units that go to a specialist processor. Paint, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, tyres and car batteries we can take, each to its own destination. Plasterboard is separate again. What we cannot take at all is anything live or leaking: full gas cylinders we have not been told about, unlabelled drums of chemicals, asbestos sheeting off a garage roof.
