A while back we cleared a two-bedroom bungalow near Durham for a woman sorting out her mother's things. A downsize, not a bereavement, but the same careful business either way. The second one worth setting down was a DH7 clearance out at Ushaw Moor, and the person who booked it wasn't living there. Her own address was over towards Meadowfield, so she was arranging the house from a distance, which is how a great many of these go. It was a single full load. Out came the contents of the house, a small fridge freezer and a mattress. The load went through our regulated recycling and disposal route rather than the nearest tip. What sticks in the memory from that one isn't the furniture at all, it's the paperwork: she'd already settled up by bank transfer a few days before the invoice date, and when the invoice landed she wrote back straight away — "This invoice was paid by bank transfer on the 1st March. I have proof on my bank account if needed."
