Airdrie, Coatbridge, Motherwell and Cumbernauld: former steel and mining towns strung along the M8 east of Glasgow, and one new town among them.
The stock is terraced and postwar estate housing in the older burghs, and Cumbernauld is something else entirely — a planned town of the 1960s with split-level houses, walkways and underpasses, where the front door and the parking are often on different levels. Worth saying which when you ring.
Long occupancies are common here and the volume sits in lofts and back rooms rather than in the main rooms.
Confirmation, not probate
Scottish estates go through confirmation rather than probate. The document has a different name and a different shape, and an executor searching for English forms will not find what they need. It changes nothing about how we work: we invoice the executor, the solicitor or the estate, there is no deposit, and payment can come from the estate once it settles.
