Elgin, Forres and the coast between Inverness and Aberdeen.
Stone-built towns with substantial older houses, plus farm properties inland with steadings. Distances are real — Moray sits between two cities and belongs to neither, and a job here is planned as part of a northern trip.
Older people say Morayshire, and the name has outlasted the county by fifty years.
Confirmation, not probate
Scottish estates go through confirmation rather than probate. The document has a different name and a different shape, and an executor searching for English forms will not find what they need. It changes nothing about how we work: we invoice the executor, the solicitor or the estate, there is no deposit, and payment can come from the estate once it settles.
